Welcome to Year 4 and 5
Week 5
A very solid and productive week for the Year 4 and 5 class. In Maths, we focused on multi-step word problems, using our knowledge gained throughout the year to select and carry out the operations required to find their solution. Literacy saw us continue with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, creating our own house teams and magical creatures.
The girls took their love for reading to the playground, reading stories to their Early Years schoolmates.
Week 4
I am very proud of the children and the strength of character which they have shown during the week. Our time was packed with assessments, which were difficult, but Daria, Ahmed and Uliana all displayed lots of resilience in completing them without once complaining. Their results were very pleasing and you can all look forward to some glowing reports next week.

We finally finished our tests!
The week finished on a high in the form of the Early Years class assembly. Here, Uliana and Ahmed enjoy their beautiful garden.

Week 1
Term 3 began with Health and Safety Week in which our focus was on the ever-changing world of medical technology and bio-engineering. We looked at some people who had suffered the loss of a limb due to workplace accidents and how doctors have helped them to recover.
We started to build a our own hydraulically-powered prosthetic arm and although we did not quite finish, you can expect to see the results and a full working prototype here very soon.
