Term 2
Week 14
Congratulations to all of the children, whose hard work and sense of fun made Friday's class assembly a very enjoyable experience. They did themselves and their families proud!
Week 13
This week's goings on are being kept tightly wrapped as we prepare for our big reveal during next Friday's class assembly. I can tell you that in Maths we were dealing with the rounding, addition and subtraction of large numbers, while in Literacy we have written some of the finest mystery stories this school has ever seen. You can read those of Ahmed and Dasha below, with Uliana's soon to follow.

Week 12
![Фотография](/uploads/1/1/2/5/11252166/volume-rectangle_orig.gif)
Using our newly learned mathematical formula we measured the volume and capacity of different objects around the classroom.
While in IPC it was affairs of the heart, learning about the structure and function of the circulatory system.
In Literacy we watched a spooky short film shrouded in mystery and went to work on creating our own. Keep an eye on this page for the audio versions of our thrilling tales very soon...
Week 11
As per usual, we have been working diligently throughout the week. In IPC, we explored the musculoskeletal system, learning the names of the bones (those we could remember at least!) and how an antagonistic muscle pair works, also creating a model demonstrating our knowledge.
Yes! That is Ilya! Our Georgian friend paid us a visit this week, giving us an opportunity to wear our question caps, interviewing him to find out how life in his new school is compared to ours (He prefers CET of course). It was a welcome surprise and we look forward to seeing him again.
Finally, a huge congratulations to Sanjar on earning his first certificate since returning to our school!
Week 10
Well done on a very successful week everyone! In Maths we looked at both the metric and imperial units for measuring length, also practicing the different ways to convert from one unit to another. Quite a challenging task to do mentally but the children have become very adept as the week has drawn to a close. It might however be the last time I get to choose what we do in class, as all week Dasha and Uliana have been preparing a debate in which they will hope to convince the other children (and Mr. Davies!) that the children should have the power to decide what goes on in and around our school community. Watch this space...

In IPC, we began the week by putting our stretching, cardio and Zumba lesson plans from last week, taking control of Monday's PE lesson. It was lots of fun and gave the children a lot of confidence in the routines they had previously worked so hard on.
We also took some photographs of each other while at exercise as a basis and inspiration for our water-colour silhouettes, which you will see proudly on display as soon as they are finished.
Week 9
Welcome back everyone! The smiling faces and energetic disposition of the children suggests it was a worthwhile mid-term break. As is customary, our new half term has given us a new topic...
As is evident from the title, this topic is all about the body and how to keep it at its healthiest peak. This week we have learned how to measure heart rate and how to train properly to ensure our heartbeats are equal to that of a professional athlete. We have also begun to put together some surprises for our class assembly on the 21st of April!
In Maths we have been studying time and in literacy learning how to debate formally, as well as our usual spelling work. It has been an excellent week.
Finally, everyone in Years 4 and 5 would like to wish you a very...
International Week
A fun-filled close to another eventful and educational half-term. The children outdid themselves in squeezing so much art work and creativity out of four short days, the result of which you were all there to witness and enjoy today. Please explore the International Week page on this site for a full look at what we achieved. I wish you all a restful and relaxing break in London, Abu Dhabi, The Maldives and beyond. See you back here on the 13th!
Weeks 5 and 6
It has been a busy couple of weeks with lots of smiling and hard work throughout. Maths has seen us focus on fractions, decimals and percentages, while putting the finishing touches on our revision in preparation for next weeks up and coming assessments. In Literacy we have been trying to spruce up our sentences, perfecting our spelling, polishing our tenses and varying our vocabulary.
In IPC we have focused on two different climates, Polar and Desert, pictures of which you can see on Monday once we have completed our wall display.
Such has been rapid progress we have made during our coding lessons that we decided to give the teachers a lesson off and share our skills with Year 3. They provided us with all of the required attention and attentiveness we felt our lesson deserved and we hope to have another opportunity to share our knowledge with them very soon.

We also had a look at some of Tesla's discoveries and inventions, Newton's Third Law of Motion, simple cog mechanisms and the refraction of light through lenses and prisms.
Week 4
It has been a while! As you all know it's been a busy couple of weeks for me personally as I welcomed my first child Aisling into the world and I would like to thank everybody for their interest and well wishes.
On the school front the children have been making fantastic progress. Each pupil has been meeting or exceeding their personal targets. Daria and Uliana are perfecting their spelling, working very hard on improving and it is showing in their results. Ahmed is choosing his words more wisely and taking more time over his which has seen his grades skyrocket. They have become so attentive that today they, themselves became teachers, teaming up to share their knowledge of Coordinate Geometry and Cartesian Planes with the Year 3 class. It was a very successful lesson. Please have a look for yourselves below!
Also, a warm welcome back to Sanjar who has returned to us on a part-time basis!

Week 1
Hello everyone! Wishing you a happy New Year and a welcome return to school life after what seems to have been a relaxing and enjoyable holiday for all. In terms of time tables and routines, everything will remain more or less the same and you will be informed when and if any changes come up. Let's hope 2017 brings even more success and happiness!

During this first week we used our interest in Enid Blyton's mystery novels to write our own story. They turned out even better than I had expected them too!
